About BIO-SITIA S.A.

Our company was established as a result to the increasing demand for better quality olive oil in our region, which had to be controlled by strict management and quality standards. Following numerous meetings and discussions, 23 local olive oil farmers together with the Toplou Monastery finally founded the company in November 1999. The purpose of our company is the production - bottling of high quality extra virgin olive oil, which comes from organic or non-organic olive groves that belong to farmers of our area (P.D.O.) as well as from other regions of Greece.

The company has 28 employees. Our staff includes an agriculturalist who is the mendor to our olive growers and controls their crops, a food technologist for quality control of products and a chemical engineer as external consultant.

TThe machines are certified and the production and bottling processes comply with ISO, HACCP, IFS, BRC standards and are certified by TUV Austria, AGROCERT for PDO olive oil and BIOHELLAS for organic olive oil. Our company exports its products to Europe, America, Australia and Asia to 26,000 stores through wholesalers.

Following numerous meetings and discussions, 23 local olive oil farmers together with the Toplou Monastery finally founded the company in November 1999. The Toplou Monastery was the pioneer in this idea and the one who provided the land. The goal of the organization was the production of high quality full organic and conventional extra virgin olive oil derived from organically grown olives, and high quality extra virgin olive oil derived from olives of local olive farmers of the region.

Our facilities

•    Our building facilities occupy 1500 sq. m. on land which was granted to the Company by the Monastery of Toplou. 
•    The building of the olive oil press occupies 250 sq.m., is of two phases, centrifugal, with a production capacity of 2.600 g of olive oil per hour.
•    Two lines of olive oil bottling (2200 bottles of 750 ml per hour & 3000 bottles of 750 ml per hour).
•    One line for the standardisation of metal containers. 
•    We also have available storage spaces (800 sq.m.) and stainless-steel vats with a total capacity of 800 tonnes of olive oil.
